Mrs. C's Boudoir Experience
Mrs. C. came to me looking to surprise her husband with the perfect gift. What started as a gift for him ended up being a gift for herself! She had always wanted to do a session but as most ladies, she was nervous to book. Once she got in front of the camera, her confidence shined through. Needless to say, she absolutely rocked her session and Iām sure her hubby love the gift!
Tell me about the lingerie shopping process, was it hard, was it fun? Where did you go?
The lingerie shopping process was both fun, and intimidating. Lingerie can be expensive and I was unsure of what to look for. However, Annika sent a wealth of information and suggested some really awesome places. I ended up getting two items from Thistle and Spire. The pieces were gorgeous! I have never had lingerie that has fit me so well. I want to wear them all the time.
How were you feeling before you entered the studio/shooting location for the first time, nervous, excited, etc?
I was definitely feeling a mix of nerves and excitement before my shoot. however, Annika is so friendly and down to earth that my nerves quickly subsided (the champagne didn't hurt either). She modeled every pose and gave suggestions. She showed me some of the pictures after shooting the first outfit (and every outfit thereafter), which really helped because they looked amazing and it helped boost my confidence for the rest of the shoot. I had lots of fun feeling like a model!
What was your favorite lingerie look? Was it one you expected, or were you surprised by the piece that ended up being your favorite?
I had two favorite lingerie looks. One was a black teddy from Thistle and Spire. I have never worn a teddy before so I was hesitant, but I followed Annika's advice to pick a piece of lingerie that was out of my comfort zone. I am so glad I did because the photos of me in that outfit are some of my favorites. My other favorite look was a sheer floor-length robe with nothing on underneath. It was my boldest outfit and I love the way it looks in the photos.
What inspired you to choose your makeup look?
I do not wear a lot of makeup so I chose a more natural look because I wanted to be able to recognize myself in photos.
How did you feel leaving your boudoir session? Excited, empowered, sexy?
AMAZING! I felt so sexy and like I could do anything.
What was your first thought when seeing how you looked in your photos? Have you noticed a mental shift in the way you view your body since doing the shoot?
I was floored when I saw the teaser photo. I had an idea of what the photos would look like, but they were so much better than I ever could have imagined. Annika is extremely talented.
If you did the session as a gift for someone, is/was it hard keeping it a secret? How are you planning on presenting the gift to your sweetie?
This session is primarily a gift for my hubby to be, but it is also a gift for me. I have always dreamed of doing boudoir but thought I would feel too uncomfortable. Then I found Annika through a wedding website and immediately knew I wanted to do a shoot with her after reading through her website and looking through her portfolio. After seeing the photos I am so glad I did. My hubby is going to love them and I am glad that I will have those photos of me forever.
Would you do another session?
Absolutely. I would love to do another shoot, especially now that I have done it once and know what to expect. I would love to try even more daring looks and let loose a little more.
If you had to choose your favorite image or series of photos, which would it be?
One of my favorite photos is a back shot where I have let my robe fall halfway off. The lighting is amazing and I feel like I look like a goddess.
