Have you ever been obsessed with all of those products that talk about how dewy and glowy it will make your skin? Well, I for one am! And if you are reading this, I’m assuming you love glowing skin too. Who doesn’t, right?!  Now I know that making time for skin every day isn’t an easy task, especially when you are a busy working gal like yourself, but it is an important one! I promise it is well worth it, especially if you have a session coming up. So to make it even easier, I’ve put together a few steps to get that beautiful skin we are all dying for (and be camera ready!).

First and foremost, I would like to start by saying it is vital to figure out what works best for YOU. Our skin is all different, so different things will work for different people. But my tips here are pretty general and easy ones that are ideal for everyone to add to their routine!

  • Drink water throughout the day. I know it seems so simple but if you’re anything like me, you forget. Keep a glass on your nightstand so you can sip it before sleeping and you’ll have it right when you wake up. Drinking water is a step that most forget about but it’s the easiest (and cheapest!) way to get glowing skin. The best part? You’re doing it naturally. So drink, drink, drink!

  • I know it’s tempting after a long night to just crawl into bed with makeup on, but ever stop to think what it is actually doing to your skin?? Sleeping in makeup can cause more wrinkles by wreaking havoc on the skins collagen production, causing the skin to appear less supple. Makeup can also lead to breakouts, dry skin, chapped lips, broken lashes, clogged eyelash follicles, and can even lead to eye infections! So next time you’re a bit tired, think of these side effects and take a few minutes to properly wash your face at night :)

  • Avoid the sun. The sun dries out our skin, so if you a boudoir shoot coming up or an event where you want extra glowing skin at then skip tanning. And if you do find yourself in a situation where you will be outside for a bit, be sure to wear sunscreen and maybe even a hat to protect your skin!

Be sure to stick to these steps at least a couple weeks leading up to your session, I promise you will be so happy you did! It will not only make you feel more confident in your day to day life, but you will notice the difference in your images!
