The Curve Killer. Trust me, it's not what you're thinking.

You have your shoot coming and are thinking of what to wear for it. You feel the nerves creeping in, and start thinking you'll just hide behind the layers! But what if I told you that form-fitting lingerie and clothes are a better way to hide parts of your body you don't like, versus trying to cover up with loose or oversize items? You’re probably thinking, Annika - you’re crazy! But hear me out because it actually is TRUE!

Most women are insecure about their midsection, thighs, or booty. These are areas where we tend to carry extra weight and cellulite. But covering up your gorgeous body is not the solution! I challenge you to go with something form-fitting next time instead of something oversized. The reason being is that oversized pieces (such as a thick jacket, chunky sweater, or your sweeties favorite t-shirt or jersey) can actually make you look bigger and bulkier in boudoir photos since it does nothing to highlight your shape. I see oversized pieces as curve killers...which they really are!

I don't care if you're a size 2 or 22, going oversized will add width to your body. You want something that will cling and hug your body in all the right places. This way the lingerie or clothing item will work with your body and not against it. Now, of course, there are the right form-fitting pieces that must be considered for different body types! If you're already a client of mine, you know I got you covered and will teach you all about what works best for you, but if you're not, use this little guide below:

  1. Robes + Kimonos - these can be sheer, lace, or satin or what have you. They work wonders in being able to position them in different ways to show off/hide certain parts of the body. Plus being able to tie them at the waist, will add instant curves!

  2. High waisted panties are a must-try if your midsection has you wanting to run for cover! Make sure you try a lot of them on as every high waisted panty is cut very differently. You love some, you will hate some.

  3. My absolute favorite - bodysuits and teddies. You can wear these babies for your shoot or out for drinks (I love versatility!). These are perfect if thighs or your tummy are an issue. Make sure they are cut HIGH on the hipbone to elongate and thin the thighs while accentuating the curves in your waist. WIN-WIN!

  4. Tight slips that hit mid-thigh are ideal if your thighs your problem area. They will accentuate the curve of your waist and cover up part of the legs + add length to them!
