Ms. M's Boudoir Session

Ms. M. came to me wanting to do a boudoir session for her future hubby to be. She knew this gift would be unexpected and like most clients, she wanted to knock his socks off! I am so glad she had the courage to not only do this boudoir session for him but for herself as well!

What made you decide on doing a boudoir session? 

I was trying to think of something unexpected and special for a wedding gift for my future husband. After a lot of thinking and talking myself through it, I decided a boudoir  session would be the perfect surprise for him. I cannot wait to see his face when I give him his album the night before our wedding. I think he'll be so happy not just with the photos, but the fact that I actually broke out of my shell and had the guts to do this for him!

How did you decide on what to wear? Did you bring any meaningful accessories? Did the Pinterest board created for you help?

Annika was a huge help on deciding what to wear. I brought so many things, a lot being from the Pinterest board that was super helpful, and a combination of things that I liked and some that were something I knew he would pick out for me. I brought my veil with me and I am so happy I did. The photos with the veil came out amazing and I'm so glad we were able to include it in my shoot.

Let's talk about the day of the shoot. Were you nervous before arriving? How did you feel being in front of the camera?

I was very nervous leading up to the shoot. I was completely out of my comfort zone and never thought I would be wearing close to nothing and very little in front of the camera. Once I got there though and I was talking with Annika while getting my hair and makeup done, I felt comfortable. Annika has a great way of making you feel comfortable in your own skin, and not feeling awkward at all. By the time the first couple photos were shot, I felt completely comfortable with her.

Tell me about the experience you had during the session. Were the poses what you expected? Did you have fun? 

I had so much fun! Some of the poses I expected just from browsing on Instagram, the website, etc. but also some very very unexpected in the sense that you feel like youre in the weirdest position, but it looks so good on camera haha.

I always have to ask, were you sore the next day from the poses? 

Yes!! Some of the poses make for a great workout haha

What were your first thoughts when you saw your images? Have you noticed a mental shift in the way you view your body since doing the shoot?

So pretty! I've definitely noticed a bit of a shift. I have always been self conscious about my short torso (especially being that i'm only 5ft tall) and the photos definitely made me look more long and beautiful :) 

Do you have any advice or tips for ladies who are thinking about doing a session? 

Do it!! It is an amazing experience, and I give all of that credit to Annika. No matter how unsure or uncomfortable you may feel at the start, she takes all of that worry away. Have fun with it and do it if not for your significant other, for yourself!

What was your absolute favorite part of this experience? 

The whole experience was great, but I think my favorite part with be seeing my future husband's reaction when he opens his gift! :)
