Boudoir Without Lingerie
Usually when you think of boudoir, you think of lingerie. If you don’t love lingerie, you may be thinking that this type of photography session just isn’t your thing. I hear a lot from clients that they just don’t love certain types of lingerie and they aren’t sure if they can do a boudoir session. This may come as a surprise but you don’t have to be wearing lingerie to do a boudoir shoot.
One of my favorite things about boudoir is that there are no rules. There are no rules on what to wear or what not to wear. Each session Is completely customized to you, your style, your vision and your personality. From everyday clothing like t-shirts and dresses to nude shoots to even just adding in accessories, there are so many other options for you to choose from.
If you are stuck on what to wear, here are a few tips that you can most likely find in your closet!
T-Shirts & Shorts
T-shirts and shorts are your classic summer wardrobe but can be oh so sexy in front of the camera. I love using t-shirts because they are so casual. With different poses, you can really make that simple white tee look jaw dropping. Shorts are also a great option! Whether you want to wear more casual shorts like jean shorts or more on the sexy side like lace and satin, they can be fun to photograph!
Cardigans & Jackets
I love pairing lingerie and bra and panty sets with cardigans and jackets. It takes a simple look to the next level. It’s also great for hiding certain parts of your body and showing off other parts of your body, like your shoulders or your tush. You can completely change the vibe with these different options. If you are looking for something more on the sexy side, try a leather jacket. If you are looking for something more casual, a cardigan is perfect!
Skirts & Dresses
A pencil skirt may be part of your everyday life but can be so sexy in front of the camera! Whether you want to be pair it with your favorite bra or even topless, a skirt can be so sexy! It’s something that most of us own but never think about it for boudoir. Dresses that are form fitting are also a great option!
Accessories
Accessories are my favorite thing to see when clients come in for a session. The options are truly ended. Whether it is jewelry, your favorite blanket, your partners tie, etc. it’s one of the best ways to really make your session personal to you and your partner!
Boudoir is all about feeling sexy! It’s about wearing something that you feel confident in and that doesn’t have to be lingerie. During the planning session, we will talk about different things to wear during your shoot. The consultation is full of questions about style and personality and we will dig deep into some recommendations to wear during your session. I always like to show a variety of options because whatever you wear (or not wear!) will absolutely make your partners jaw drop.
