Ms. L's Boudoir Experience

Ms. L came to me wanting to do something special for her boyfriend. As most clients are, she came in a little nervous. As the session went on, she got more and more comfortable in front of the camera and the nervousness soon went away. We had so much fun during the session and her photos came out nothing short of amazing and not to mention, jaw dropping. What started as a gift for him, ended up as a gift for her and he just gets to benefit from it!

What made you decide on doing a boudoir session?

This started off as something for my boyfriend but then as I was moving along in the experience, I realized that this was actually more for me and that he gets to benefit by having the proofs.

How did you decide on what to wear? Did you bring any meaningful accessories? Did the Pinterest board created for you help?

The Pinterest board was very helpful as I would have only thought about the basic lingerie set (bra, panties, garter.) Who knew there was so much more sexiness than that?

Let's talk about the day of the shoot. Were you nervous before arriving? How did you feel being in front of the camera?

I was more excited than nervous. I have been anticipating it for some time and didn't have any expectations of the big day. All I hoped for in this experience was to uncover my sexy look (you know with them fuck me eyes) and that's what happened! I learned different sexy poses, body postures and hand positioning that in general, made me more mindful of those subtleties for post-photo shoot life. I didn't feel shy in front of the camera at all. I've taken fun photos withy girlfriends when we travel, we would shoot hundreds of photos of each other along the beach and then choose 10 to keep LOL. This was similar but way more intentional. I loved every moment of it.

Tell me about the experience you had during the session. Were the poses what you expected? Did you have fun?

This was so much fun! I googled and searched on Pinterest and Instagram boudoir photography and probably glanced at at least a thousand photos since I reached out to Annika in March-ish so I had an idea of how the finished product would look like, however, I had not a clue what it would feel like in the moment. Once we finished, I thought to myself, "modeling isn't as easy as it looks. This stuff takes work!" My body was contoured in ways it wasn't use to so holding some of the poses took effort. Annika was great at giving directions and because I walked into the space having already made up my mind on giving up all the control along with telling myself to listen, to the best of my ability, to whatever Annika tells me to do, I knew the photos would come out great! It was so much fun. I'd like to do it again in several years.

I always have to ask, were you sore the next day from the poses?

Honestly no. My body moves a lot and I stretch out all the time so I wasn't sore. Nothing gets me sore outside of snowboarding hard.

What were your first thoughts when you saw your images? Have you noticed a mental shift in the way you view your body since doing the shoot?

I couldn't believe that was me. I then realized it was me and instead of being critical of myself, which was the more natural tendency, I changed my thoughts and just said damn, I can't believe I did that. I'm such a boss!

Do you have any advice or tips for ladies who are thinking about doing a session?

Just do it! If you're thinking about it, just pull the trigger. There's no losing, winning is the only outcome.

What was your absolute favorite part of this experience?

Discovering that the sexiness I always wanted, was actually always there. I just didn't know how to let it come out because I was so judgmental of myself, which inadvertently, limited the sexiness.
