Ms. W's Boudoir Session

Ms. W came to me shortly after getting engaged. She had been thinking about doing a session for her upcoming wedding. As much as she knew her future hubby to be would love the images, she ultimately decided on doing a session for the experience! Her session was absolutely incredible, she radiated confidence with each and every pose. I know she love the images and I am so excited to hear how her fiancé loved the photos on their wedding day!

What made you decide on doing a boudoir session?

I knew that my fiancé was interested in me doing it for his wedding gift.  However, in the end I really decided to do it just as much for me.

How did you decide on what to wear? Did you bring any meaningful accessories? Did the Pinterest board created for you help?

Annika was fantastic with helping to identify what kind of outfits would look good on me.  The Pinterest board was a great start and definitely a source of inspiration!  It also got me excited to shop both online and in stores to find some other unique items.  It turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the process. And I was able to check some honeymoon shopping off the list at the same time.

Let's talk about the day of the shoot. Were you nervous before arriving? How did you feel being in front of the camera?

I was very nervous before arriving just not having any idea on what to expect.  However, I was able to feel more comfortable just by chatting with Annika while I was having my hair and makeup done.    What seemed at first like an intimidating situation turned fun.

Tell me about the experience you had during the session. Were the poses what you expected? Did you have fun?

The poses didn’t feel as natural as one would think. However, they look amazing in the photos!  I was so grateful that she showed me all of the poses and had no expectation that it would come naturally to me.

I always have to ask, were you sore the next day from the poses?
YES!!! For about 3 days :)

What were your first thoughts when you saw your images? Have you noticed a mental shift in the way you view your body since doing the shoot?
Is that me?!?  I have always been incredibly self conscious about the shape of my body.  I have curves but was never proud of them and did whatever I could to hide/minimize them. After staring at my teaser photo for a bit, I couldn’t believe how much I loved the shape of my hips.  I’m in awe at the mind shift that I have had about my body since my shoot. And incredible grateful for that as I get closer to my wedding date.

Do you have any advice or tips for ladies who are thinking about doing a session?

If you’re second guessing yourself and questioning doing it or not, JUST DO IT!  Well worth the investment for the change in perception of my body. I can’t thank Annika enough for helping me see the beauty in myself and my shape.

What was your absolute favorite part of this experience?

I LOVE my new outfits.  They make me feel so sexy and I’m so excited to share them with my (soon to be) husband.
