Ms. M's Boudoir Session

Ms. M came to me all the way from California wanting to do a session for her hubby-to-be because as she put it, she wanted to give him a gift that would "knock his socks off". Well, she came to the right place!

I knew that her session would be extra special when she came in with the watch she bought him for their first anniversary. Her images came out with just the right combination of sex appeal and innocence.  Keep on reading to find out more about her boudoir experience:

What made you decide on doing a boudoir session? 

I wanted to give my future husband something that he could look back on when we are older. I think it's going to be an unexpected wedding gift that he will love. I also have never done something like this and wanted to do something out of my comfort zone.

How did you decide on what to wear? Did you bring any meaningful accessories? Did the Pinterest board created for you help?

I brought his watch as an accessory that I gave him for our one year anniversary. It definitely added something special to a couple of shots. The Pinterest board gave me some great ideas and I picked outfits that I knew I would feel good in. 

Let's talk about the day of the shoot. Were you nervous before arriving? How did you feel being in front of the camera?

I was very nervous I had to have a couple (or 6) glasses of champagne to get over my nerves. Being in front of the camera at first felt a little weird, but Annika makes you feel so comfortable and after awhile I wasn't nervous at all. I wanted my photos to come out amazing and not show how nervous I was. 

Tell me about the experience you had during the session. Were the poses what you expected? Did you have fun? 

It was a lot of fun. I'm glad I did something like this. I feel like everyone should do this at least once in their life. Some of the poses were awkward but they resulted in amazing photos!

I always have to ask, were you sore the next day from the poses? 

 For someone who works out as much as I do I wasn't expecting to be sore. I was SO sore the next day, especially my back. 

What were your first thoughts when you saw your images? Have you noticed a mental shift in the way you view your body since doing the shoot?

I tend to have really bad self confidence especially when I am wearing something vulnerable like lingerie, but I literally was amazed by my photos. I was able to see what my fiancé sees in me. It was hard picking between the photos. My self confidence has definitely changed a lot because of this experience. 

Do you have any advice or tips for ladies who are thinking about doing a session? 

If you are second guessing it do your self a favor and just do it. What I learned out of my experience is, it's not just a gift for him. One day you will look back on these photos and love everything about them. Go out of your comfort zone and try something different. The results will be fantastic. Annika knows what she is doing and will make you feel so comfortable in front of the camera.

What was your absolute favorite part of this experience? 

 I think my favorite part is how I feel about myself afterward. I feel sexy and empowered and it's because I saw myself in a different lens.
