Boudoir is such an incredible experience and it is so intimate! Choosing the right photographer is so important. You want to make sure that you are choosing someone that makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera and someone that you love their style. Picking the right photographer is overwhelming because there are so many great options out there. 

Portfolio

Be sure to check out their past sessions and how they shoot. Can you see yourself in those images? Do you like their editing style? Most photographers have their own style when it comes to their session and it's important to pick a photographer that you love their work. Be sure to look through their social media platforms too! You may be able to see images that they don't already have on their website. 

Just Boudoir

Is boudoir their full time gig or something they only offer from time to time? It's important to know if this is their specialty or not. If it's not, that's okay! But I recommend choosing a photographer that focuses solely on boudoir because this is what they do every single day. They have learned the ins and outs of boudoir! 

Privacy

Ask them about their privacy policy. Boudoir is such an intimate experience and if keeping your images completely private is a must for you, make sure this is a policy that they practice. You don't want to choose someone and find out later they don't follow this because you will go back to the drawing board. 

Studio Location

Check to see if the photographer has a specific location that they shoot in or if they do it at local hotels, etc. If it's important to you that the studio has a specific vibe, ask to see images or if you can check out the studio. Knowing what the background of your images will look like is important! You want to make sure that you are 100% happy with your photographer choice before biting the bullet.

Having a photographer that compliments that is just as important. It's a big investment and you want to make sure that you are 100% happy with the outcome. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Any photographer will be so happy to make sure you are completely comfortable before coming in to your session.
