What To Bring To Your Boudoir Session

I get a lot of questions from clients about what to bring to their session. With the normal nerves and not knowing what to expect, the last thing you want to do the morning of is worry about what to bring! Depending on the type of session you book, you have the option of 2-3 outfit choices or 4-5. I always recommend bringing in more things than you think you will need. You never know if you will not be feeling something after you put it on so it's good to have a few back ups, just in case. You don't have to bring in suitcases full of stuff but bringing more than you think you will need will ensure that you have options.

Boudoir Heels

Shoes

One thing that most clients forget to bring are shoes! You can absolutely do a shoot barefoot so don't stress over if you have the right shoes or not. If you choose to bring in heels, I recommend anything over 4 inches and a closed round toe. If you want a sexier look, black heels are perfect for achieving that. Nude heels are perfect for a romantic and playful look. I've had clients bring in bright colors or even their wedding shoes and they always make for beautiful images. You don't have to stick to the standard black or nude heel - you can always get creative.

Boudoir Accessories

Accessories

Another common thing that is overlooked is accessories. You don't have to necessarily buy anything for your session but I always recommend bringing in a few accessories. Whether it is your favorite earrings or necklace or even a scarf, it adds a fun look to your session. I recommend bringing in more than you think you will need, we can always mix and match with different lingerie and use your accessories in different ways. For example, if you bring in a scarf, you can wear it the traditional way or even lay it on the ground as a throw and lay on top of it for a few poses.

Lingerie

This may seem like a no brainer, but don't forget your lingerie! By the day of the session, you should already have a pretty good idea of what you are wearing and what your options are. From the classic bra and panty sets to bodysuits to corsets - the options are endless! There are so many great lingerie pieces out there today that I know with a little shopping, you will have the perfect pieces for your session.  You don’t even have to go shopping, you probably have a lot of great pieces that you didn’t even know you had. Be sure to raid your closet a few days before to see what you can bring in with you.

Your session is all about you! I don't want you to stress about what to bring at all. From the consultation to the Pinterest board, I will be there with you every step of the planning process. Have more questions? Feel free to me at info@macheriestudios.com.
