Ms. R's Boudoir Experience

Ms. R came to me wanting to do a session for her future husband. She knew this would totally blow him away and he would never expect it as his wedding gift. She brought in a few meaningful items that were her sweeties to make the session a bit more personal and she absolutely rocked it! Her photos came out nothing short of amazing and I am sure her hubby is going to love everything!

What made you decide on doing a boudoir session?

I wanted to do this for my future hubby for a surprise wedding gift.

How did you decide on what to wear? Did you bring any meaningful accessories? Did the Pinterest board created for you help?

Pinterest board all the way! I had no clue where to start and Annika's recommendations lead me in the right direction. I looked at other Pinterest boards she made for other clients to get some ideas too. I put all my trust in the professional for this :) I did bring a couple of meaningful accessories like a necklace my fiancé had given me and one of his favorite cut out t-shirts.

Let's talk about the day of the shoot. Were you nervous before arriving? How did you feel being in front of the camera?

I was definitely nervous/anxious but excited for the final product and outcome. I'm not one to take selfies or to really like any picture of myself, but again I knew Annika knew what she's doing (from looking at her Instagram and past posts) and trusted her 100%. She made it as comfortable as possible for me.

Tell me about the experience you had during the session. Were the poses what you expected? Did you have fun? 

Cool/relaxing vibes! I had a lot of fun- the poses we're harder than I thought and awkward to hold but when you see the images on the camera/computer they look so much more natural than they felt holding them.

I always have to ask, were you sore the next day from the poses? 

So sore! The entire weekend after my hamstrings and quads were shaking haha

What were your first thoughts when you saw your images? Have you noticed a mental shift in the way you view your body since doing the shoot?

My first thought was "These look amazing! Is that really me?!" And yes- I definitely have a broader outlook on what you can use as lingerie and how sexy you can look in just a plain bodysuit from Forever 21!

Do you have any advice or tips for ladies who are thinking about doing a session? 

Do it! Do your research and read reviews (that's where I found Annika- from Yelp!). And trust the professional- they know what they're doing and know what will look good.

What was your absolute favorite part of this experience? 

One of my favorite parts is the excitement of giving this gift to my fiancé. This is something totally out of my character and he is going to be so surprised- I can't wait to see his face! Annika definitely made this as seamless and smooth as I could ever imagine.
