Preparing For A Session
If you have a boudoir session coming up in the next few months, now is the time to start prepping for it. I want your big day to go as smooth as it possibly can! I’ve come up with a few tips to help ensure your day is as stress-free and fun as it can be.
Bring Extra!
Sometimes, outfits and ideas don’t always pan out the way we want them to. I always encourage you to bring more items to your session than you think you will need. This way, if your stockings get a run or something doesn’t look quite how you want it to, you have something swap it out with. Make sure you love the extra items that you bring!
If you are feeling stuck on what to bring, be sure to refer back to the Pinterest board that I created for you. It’s full of some great options and can get your creativity going! There are no wrong choices so go with your gut and bring the pieces that you absolutely love. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about lingerie!
Water
Drink plenty of water the week leading up to your shoot. Our bodies love water and it’s never a bad idea to ensure that we are hydrated. It will help hydrate your skin to give it that soft and moisturized look. It also will help clear our complexion and help keep you from getting bloated.
Eating
I always recommend eating good meals the days leading up to your shoot. It can seem enticing to not eat because you want to be slim but I promise this does not help you! It really wears on your body and can end up making you feel bloated. It’s important for your complexion and for your energy levels to eat well. Be sure to eat healthy meals the week of your shoot so you can feel your absolute best the morning of your session.
Tans
If there is anything that I recommend not doing for a session, it is getting a spray tan. If you want a sun-kissed glow, I promise a fake tan is not the way to go for a session. Unfortunately, the camera sees colors in a different way than our eyes do. If your tan looks great in person it may look a little orange in front of the lens. I always add a natural tan to the skin in the editing process so there is no need to stress about if you are tan enough or not.
Touch Ups
I always recommend getting touched up with your normal appointments before your shoot. From getting a trim or your roots colored, to a manicure and pedicure, these little things will make such a difference in your photos! It's the little details that you probably won’t notice if everything looks good but you would most likely catch it if you didn’t get them touched up.
Relax & Have Fun!
The day is all about you and I want to make sure you feel your very best the day of the shoot. We will go over any last-minute questions before your session to help ease your nerves. I promise I will take good care of you. All you need to do is bring your beautiful self and have fun.
