DIY Hair Masks

Summers in the sun is what every girl dreams of but it can damage your hair! From the sweat, salt and sand, your hair can start to feel the damage of all of those glorious beach days. We spend so much money on treatments, coloring and the routine cut, that you want to make sure you are keeping your hair healthy! One of my favorite thing to do every summer is to pamper myself a little with hair masks. Constantly buying them from the store can get expensive so I wanted to share some of my favorite DIY recipes.

Moisturizing

If you are looking for a mask to moisturize your hair, an easy hair mask is olive oil and yogurt! It's great for adding moisture to your hair if you are finding that your hair is dry. Mix one tablespoon of olive oil with 1/4 cup of whole fat yogurt. Stir until it is mixed completely. Apply to your hair and leave in for 15-25 minutes. Wash out your mask and be sure to rinse it out completely.

Clarifying

Clarifying masks are one of my favorites. if you are looking for a good clarifying masks, all you need is salt, lemon juice and olive oil. Mix 2 tablespoons of salt, 1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1-2 tablespoons of oil oil together. With wet hair, massage the clarifying scrub into scalp for several minutes. Rinse the masks out well and shampoo as normal!

Repairing

In a blender, combine 1 banana with 1 tablespoon of honey, Mix until you are happy with the smooth consistency. Apply the mask to your hair and try to focus on the ends! let it sit for about 20 minutes and rinse out the mask thoroughly.

These are just a few of my favorite hair masks to make at home. There are so many recipes out. What is your favorite diy hair mask?
