Mrs. W's Boudoir Experience
Mrs. W came to me wanting to do a boudoir session for not only her husband but for herself. I always love when clients come to me wanting to do it for them because it makes the session extra special. Being able to watch the client go being a little nervous to confident in their skin with one shoot, makes my job so unbelievably rewarding.
Like myself, Mrs. W is an absolute lingerie lover. Every piece she brought in was absolutely perfect for her and stunning to say the least. With every new pose she got more and more comfortable in front of the camera. And as you can see from the images, she rocked her session!
What made you decide on doing a boudoir session?
A few years ago, my niece had a beautiful book made from her boudoir session which she gave to her husband on their wedding day. She showed it me. It was so lovely and sexy! That was the beginning for me. I began my search on line for my very own boudoir session.
How did you decide on what to wear? Did you bring any meaningful accessories? Did the Pinterest board created for you help?
I’ve always enjoyed buying beautiful and sexy lingerie. Once I knew I was going to do this I began to look for fresh ideas. I got ideas through Annika’s website and the Pinterest board that was created for me.
Let's talk about the day of the shoot. Were you nervous before arriving? How did you feel being in front of the camera?
I was very nervous the day of the shoot! Once there and meeting Annika and the make up artist I begin to calm down. At first being in front of the camera was a bit uncomfortable but it just got easier and even ‘fun’ as Annika took more photos!
Tell me about the experience you had during the session. Were the poses what you expected? Did you have fun?
Annika showing me the poses and giving me ideas was so helpful and I began to relax. After a few photos I started to just feel the experience. It was comfortable, fun and I was so happy I was finally doing this.
I always have to ask, were you sore the next day from the poses?
Lol!! No, I wasn’t sore at all.
What were your first thoughts when you saw your images? Have you noticed a mental shift in the way you view your body since doing the shoot?
Annika sent me a ‘Teaser photo’ through email. I couldn’t believe it! It was beautiful and I was smiling and looked so comfortable. Seeing all the images was incredible. I looked confident, sexy and happy! There has definitely been a mental shift in the way I view my body. I look in the mirror and smile, I feel sexy. I’m admiring and loving my body just the way it is.
Do you have any advice or tips for ladies who are thinking about doing a session?
You are never too old to have a boudoir session! I am 62 and I almost backed out because I was thinking maybe I was too old. I’m so glad I did this!
What was your absolute favorite part of this experience?
My absolute favorite part of this experience was the feeling I had when I left the session driving home. I couldn’t stop smiling. I was so happy. I did it! I felt beautiful & sexy and so confident!
