Belize = Paradise

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I joined my mom, her partner, and my sister and her boyfriend on a week long trip in Belize. This was my second time in Belize, but this trip was to celebrate my mothers 60th birthday. Although my mom and sister live near each other in Florida, we all travel a lot and have our careers so anytime we can ALL get together it is always special! Plus spending a week in paradise with my favorite people in the world, is pretty much the recipe for my dream vacation :)

During this trip, we mainly stayed on the island of San Pedro, but also got to sail around all of Belize with a catamaran (my mothers request for her bday!). During the sail trip, we went snorkeling and saw so much wildlife! I am a bit animal obsessed so any chance I get to see species in their natural habitat is always a treat. We swam with nurse sharks, manatees, a huge variety of fish, a loggerhead turtle (we even got to see it eat a lobster head!), a reef shark, barracudas, and eels. I am never afraid to get into the ocean to swim with sharks (last time in Belize we swam with whale sharks!) or anything else, but I have to admit that seeing barracudas so close by was a little unsettling. They watch you very intently and move with every move you make. But clearly all ended well!

Check out some of the images from the trip below and be sure to click here to see a video of our first day there! The second day, also the day I was stung by a jelly fish can be found here. My sister (@life.by.linda) makes amazing travel vlogs, with way more detail and fun than I am capable of putting into my blog posts so don't miss it! She also shows a bit of the other island in Belize, Caye Caulker, which is a must see as well. (be sure to subscrice to her videos if you love seeing traveling video!)

*The pic of me frowning with white stuff on my arm...was the result of me getting stung by a jellyfish and the local remedy someone made for me to help with the pain. That stuff worked liked magic! Check out the vlog here
