All You Need To Know About Waxing

Now that the warm weather is here, pool days are going to be happening on a regular basis. One of my biggest pet peeves of pool season is keeping up with unwanted hair! Whether you shave or wax, it can be a bit of a pain to keep up with but so worth it! Waxing is not only great for the warm weather seasons but also for boudoir sessions! It's an easy way to get rid of all that unwanted hair. Here are a few tips for your waxing session.

When you are thinking about getting waxed, it is important to figure out if you are going to go to a spa or salon to get it done or if you want to take the leap and wax at home. If you are waxing at home, it's important to know what you are doing ahead of time. Be sure to apply the wax in the same direction of your hair growth and pull the opposite direction. Using baby powder is perfect for absorbing any unwanted moisture and ensures that the strips adhere properly.

Exfoliate

Before getting waxed, be sure to exfoliate and moisturize weeks leading up to it. This will help eliminate the chance of ingrown hairs. It will also help get rid of any dead skin that you might have and make your skin feel super smooth. You want to also make sure that you let your hair grow out to at least 1/4 of an inch to 3/4 of an inch. The longer the hair the easier it is to get all of your hair out.

Post Wax Care

After your wax, you want to make sure that you take care of your skin! If you are prone to bumps, there are many different creams and oils that you can use to help reduce them. Ask your salon before you leave if they have any recommendations on what to do to help keep your wax as long as possible. In between waxes, be sure to keep moisturizing your skin and exfoliating on a regular basis.

Once you start waxing on a regular basis, it's great to keep up with it. When you shave, your hair becomes more dense and when you wax it becomes less dense. Switching on and off can mess with that. What is your preference, waxing or shaving? Comment down below!

I personally like waxing just because it helps me from getting razor bumps and ingrown hair but I'd love to hear what your hair removal process is like.
