Ms. A's Boudoir Experience

Ms. A., like most of my clients, came to me a little nervous about doing a session. She had received a gift certificate for a shoot, and although she was excited to shoot, she was nervous!

As we moved through each pose, I could tell that she was getting more and more comfortable. From behind the camera, I could see her confidence shining and I knew the images would be nothing short of amazing. I am so thrilled when clients face their fears and I get to watch them blossom in front of the camera. Read more about what Ms.A had to say about her experience below:

What made you decide on doing a boudoir session?

I have always wanted to participate in a boudoir session but had no reputable resource to use.  After attending a Fifty Shades Freed event, I received a gift certificate towards a session and called to schedule the same week after going to the Ma Cherie Studios’ website.

How did you decide on what to wear? Did you bring any meaningful accessories? Did the Pinterest board created for you help?

Honestly, my choices were purchased the night before!  The Pinterest board helped narrow down all the lingerie choices that are out there and I was able to choose quickly.  Annika also helped detail what works for the camera.

Let's talk about the day of the shoot. Were you nervous before arriving? How did you feel being in front of the camera?

Oddly, I was not nervous about the theme of the shoot, but, I am always anxious about taking photos-knowing how to stand and angle, etc.

Tell me about the experience you had during the session. Were the poses what you expected? Did you have fun?

I  felt a bit silly as I do not consider myself to be a glamorous type, but as the shoot progressed , you start to engage more naturally.  Annika is terrific at directing, so you’re not analyzing so much.

The poses felt ‘dramatic’ and I thought it would look as if I was trying too hard, but Annika knows best! She allows for your own creativity, as well, with the poses.

As someone who lives outside the social media/selfies universe, I had a lot of fun at my shoot and Annika feels like an old friend, so it’s a comfortable setting.  She makes it easier to get out of your head and embrace the experience.

I always have to ask, were you sore the next day from the poses?

I was not sore from the poses at all.

What were your first thoughts when you saw your images? Have you noticed a mental shift in the way you view your body since doing the shoot?

I was pleasantly surprised with the teaser photo Annika sent me--I  had no idea the response I received would be EPIC from my co-workers and friends.  Kudos also to Jannicke, who styled my hair and make-up.  I do not wear make-up and she created a look that was subtle and one I was completely comfortable in.  I have been lazy with working out and I saw it in some photos, but overall, I feel more positive about my looks than I did prior to.

Do you have any advice or tips for ladies who are thinking about doing a session?

A shoot with Annika will be an investment you will not regret.  This is a great gift for relationship purposes, obviously, but as a single gal, I felt motivated previewing the images and doing this for me.  I will definitely ‘gym’ more, but I also will be less self-critical.  I ‘m kind of a big deal, thanks to my shoot!!

What was your absolute favorite part of this experience?

My favorite part was fulfilling something I was nervous to do and the end result being I would do it again..and will!
