5 Tips For Yoga Beginners
Starting yoga can be a little overwhelming when you are a beginner, but don't let being a newbie stress you out! Yoga is a great way to stay in shape, stay flexible and feel better than ever. Here are a few tips if you are looking to start:
Child's Pose
Child's pose is so important when starting yoga. If you are feeling like you can't keep your breath steady, don't be afraid to drop into child's pose to take a minute. Once you regain your breath, get back on track with your class.
Don't Stress About The Weight
It can be frustrating when you are spending so much time being active and not seeing the scale drop. But, don't stress about it! The first few months you will be developing muscle. It is working, I promise! Keep going and you will see results.
The Mat
Buying a good mat really makes a difference. You want a mat that is thick, comfortable, and grips really well. You want something that won't make you slip even when you are dripping in sweat.
Too Sore
If you wake up feeling sore, don't skip your class! One of the best things you can do for a sore muscle is to stretch. It may seem like it won't actually help, but going to class and stretching it out will make you feel a lot better and it will help the pain go away so much faster.
Have fun
This is your yoga journey! Enjoy it! You are going to have a few failures, and some days that you are really sore, but you are on an incredible journey so make sure you have fun with it! Make friends with the people in your yoga class, learn more about yoga if you are interested, and keep up with your classes :)
